I attended Kerri Pomarolli"s breakout session at McLean"s
After Eve young women"s conference in Fall of 2005. I
will always remember her testimony about dating as a Christian
woman as one of the most influential messages I ever heard. She
has the uncanny ability to speak what so many women have said
in their hearts in a way that is both heartfelt and hilarious. In
a generation of girls who are trying to figure out how their
lives fit into the mold of Biblical womanhood, Kerri"s
message is so relevant. Every woman in that room knew what
it was like to want to be married, to keep looking for the guy
God had chosen for her, and to wonder what she was missing. Kerri"s
words took us to those moments where it"s just you and
God, and you must be completely honest with yourself about whom
you have become and whom you are searching for. Her story
was about making mistakes, and learning lessons, and growing,
and falling in love – and learning that God really does
have a sense of humor. She showed us that trusting in God
leads you to places far better than the places you are afraid
to leave. Kerri was honest and real about the struggles God takes
you through to get there. But in the end, becoming the woman
God intends for you to be allows you to see the person you"re
supposed to be with. I left her discussion session filled
with conviction and hope that God still had a plan for me no
matter where I had been. I would highly recommend her to
any church or organization!
