Wedding

April 17 2005

I usually post a joke, a tribute, or a word of encouragement to those whose storybook ending had a few pages added that they didn't plan to write.

You know, we've shared stages lately to bring levity to a subject that doesn't seem to be a laughing matter, like weddings that end in divorce.

But tonight I'm just sad.

And that's ok

The beauty of getting older is permitting myself to feel what I feel.

I look at the girl in the photo gazing ahead at her hopeful future.

That young girl had no idea what obstacles would come her way and how strong she would become.

It's ok that I'm sad that everything we promised on this day didn't turn out the way we planned and even prayed.

It was still a beautiful day.

I don't regret it.

I don't know what the future holds for me .

Will there be a second chapter?

Does God have another character waiting in the wings?

I haven't given it much thought these past years that have flown swiftly by filled with dance recitals, car pools, and mom life.

I know I've been content for the most part.

Today was just a bittersweet day, and I have no guilt for the Dutch chocolate ice cream I ate out of the carton in mass quantities and the three chocolate chip cookies, and the cupcake!

Fight me! (I'm in GA)

I got to spend time with my 86-year-old father, who is truly the man of my life and has shown me what unconditional love looks like every day since I was born.

My heart hurts a little.

It will pass.

But tonight I'll hold my two beautiful girls a little tighter and wake up tomorrow to be happy that God answers my prayers.

I'm pretty sure God has some surprises for me yet

And you too

Don't give up

God's got you

Goodnight friends

PS. You can share
